Ch'i Kung (Energy Training).

This is a deep and very wide subject. Ch'i Kung or Qigong can be used in normal exercise for health ways, medically or as a therapeutic healing method. Exercises have been scientifically developed over the centuries for common ailments as well as general fitness and health. Acupressure or Acupuncture works with the flow of Ch'i/Qi through the main Energy Channels or Meridians. Exercises can boost these Meridians and also balance them.
Ch'i does exist and has been proven by modern scientific methods. The Chinese, traditionally, never doubted it and have a simple philosophy to life, "If it works, use it. If it does not work, forget it!" Ch'i is just electrical energies that are created either universally (outside the body) or within the body and may have functions relating to either internal organs or processes. You will find out much more about Ch'i Kung by reading the book 'Qigong & Baduanjin' - just "copy and paste" this title into a new browser window to find the book on-line.
The main forms of Ch'i Kung we practice are known by various names, due to the difficulty of translation from original Chinese to English. Our most popular is called 'The Eight Strands of Silk Brocade' and is a truly beautiful set of exercises. Our Founder and Grandmaster, Shih-fu Mike Symonds, has spent many years study in this field alone and is the only person in the west to teach all three Sets, seated, standing and advanced.
There are many "pretenders" and charletons out there, so potential students be warned. Lots of people pretend to be Martial Arts Masters or teach subjects like Ch'i Kung, they may even have convincing words that they have stolen from others, but be wary as poor instruction can cause severe damage or even illness and death. Always train with a reputable school that has been established for many years, like T'ien Ti Tao. Shih-fu Symonds studied with Grandmaster C. Chee Soo (Biography here), a marvelous man who as well as teaching ran a free clinic, yes "free", in London called the Hoimar Brocade. here he helped over two-thousand "patients" to overcome health problems and illnesses that western medical practitioners did not even recognise, let alone treat! Even locally there are unscrupulous people who claim to have "lineage" to Grandmaster C. Chee Soo but do not. The Martial Arts attracts many people with self-inflated egos who award themselves Black belt ranks and high status for the sake of money. This is not true Martial Arts and certainly nothing to do with Chinese Martial Arts for even in ancient China "Masters" would barely scrape a living from a week's teaching, but they would help the community no end.

A lot of books on this subject matter can be very complicated and
confusing but this book is very straightforward, informative and precise.
