Brief Description of TAO
TAO is the Chinese name for Life, the Universe and all that happens within the Universe. Roughly translated Tao means 'Way' and that refers to the actions within The Supreme Ultimate, or T'ai Chi (as used to describe the Chinese Art which follows the philosophical principles), the Way, Path or Nature of life.
Taoism is following Nature's examples, these have been studied and recorded by past and present students of The Way. Lifestyle (Feng Shui), physical exercises for health, vitality and self-defence (K'ai Men Yoga, Qigong & Taiji), healing Arts and even Diet (Ch'ang Ming) have all been developed over the centuries in accordance with the principles of 'The Natural Way'. There are even guidelines for happier relationships and a better love life, all learned by long term study and what we call, 'trial & error' methods. The verse within this small leaflet hopes to give you a feeling for what Taoism is all about; it is not a religion, although some corrupt it, but a wonderful and complete 'Way of Life' (Tao Te Ching).
WU WEI
Wu Wei is the principle of living,
Live your life like water;
It flows from mountain to the sea,
On its way the water is giving,
And serves all creatures, you and me.
Hills and boulders block not its way,
For water will always flow around
And settle not for it recycles
Even when the sea it's found.
When life you find is dull or dreary
And problems build to make you weary,
Remember Wu Wei, to flow around.
It is not life which blocks your progress,
But the stubborn self-made dam.
Tear down your walls and restrictions,
Lists of what your ideals are,
Rid yourself of preconceptions.
Tao and Wu Wei is the best by far.
FINDING TAO
Follow The Way
and you will find home,
The path is wide
and the view complete.
Atop highest mountain
you'll sit alone,
But in the Market Place
your friends you meet.
AIR
A cloud drifts by on sea of air
Corn sways lazily growing fair
The Swallow glides and down floats by
All in a heated Summer sky
Scent is carried to deer that scurry
Breeze ruffles hair when in a hurry
Pollen carried makes us tearful
The hurricane comes to be so fearful
Sound of a tractor is carried afar, like
Spray and smoke and fumes from car
A man breathes deep in wooded way
Relaxed of mind in T'ai Chi Play.

The TAO has no name, no form.
No words can describe it,
so vast is The Way,
So immense The Universe.
The Tao is action.
Action has no fixed form.
Form has creation.
Creation has meaning.
The Way is my tool.
I am a tool of The Way.
Where Tao cannot be heard,
Then I am its voice.
Where Tao cannot be seen,
I can paint an image.
Where Tao cannot be touched,
I can touch and be touched.
Where words fall upon the ears.
And then fade away,
Ink flows to paper,
And words stay.
Tao is there for everyone.
Tao has much to say!
[ Lao Tzu's "unwritten verse" of Tao Te Ching by Mike Symonds 14th.02.95 after feeling compelled to sit down and write but not knowing what was supposed to be written, the above just "flowed onto the page"! ] This is a single verse which could have been written by Lao Tsu to note the beginning of his famous Tao Te Ching works, hence called the Unwritten Verse.
