Welcome to the website of T'ien Ti Tao Academy. T'ien Ti Tao is pronounced as "Tee-an Dee Dow" and written in modern Chinese Pinyin as "Tiandidao". In future, where there are Chinese translations available, we will use the above format in Brackettes so you can learn to pronunciate correctly.
T'ien Ti Tao means, The Way of Heaven and Earth and refers to the Taoist ("Dowist") philosophy pertaining to the Way of Nature. Tao means Way. This implies that the system's structure works with this philosophy in mind and teaches in accordance with Tao (Natural Way).
SYLLABUS The syllabus is constructed so that students can be trainined to become physically stronger and get fit in steps or stages. The stages are almost imperceptable, as steady progress can be made. Students progress along the (Yang) physical improvement
channel until they get to a reasonable level of competance.
Then they begin learning the (Yin) more "internal" aspects,
such as developing Ch'i power and being able to apply
it.
Its practicality speaks for itself. One of our members has done extensive door work and has used all aspects of his training effectively (both
the Taoist Kungfu and the Taijiquan!) in many varied situations and has built quite a reputation on his T'ien Ti Tao training. Others have astounded themselves by their abilities in situations which calls for self-defence and protection. At the other end of the social spectrum another of our students, a highly respected Doctor, uses both Pa Tuan Chin (the Eight Strands of Silk Brocade, a qigong exercise) and Taoist Ch'ang Ming Diet in his treatments of Mental Health problems.
Schools T'ien Ti Tao has developed a proper system for schools, in fact, two systems. The first is an after school club, fun, light and yet challenging whilst offering a stimulating session. The second, a complete "in curriculum" system, designed to eliminate bullying, help fitness and health awareness, offer a more practical replacement to P.E. and all at the same time as developing a young person's ability to think more positively. They both develop awareness, self-confidence and a sense of respect, fairness and having a place in society. There are many more positive side-effects, too many to go into here. Interested schools should contact us by email.
